What the Red Indians Knew...

Few cultures venerate the process of aging as much as the traditional Nth American Red Indians.

The concept of investing the leadership of the tribe into the hands of the wisest person who has had the most experience is both sensible and well considered.
After all there is a saying that a "wise head is the result of experience and reflection".

So why, in our intelligent society do we persist with the notion that aging is both inevitable and undesirable and that it signifies the beginning of the end.

It shouldn't and it doesn't!

Someone once told me that there are three types of aging, Physical aging, Chronological aging and Psychological aging and the only one that really matters is psychological aging.

If we lived in a society that valued aging and the wisdom the process bestowed then I am sure that people would live longer and with a greater sense of purpose and contribution.

No one is going to tell me that I am too old for this or too old to do that. I am quite capable of deciding for myself and in any case my goal is to live past 100 years anyway so I have plenty of time to consider things.

Live Life!
